it is a standing pin
I'm going to develop Kryptonian polish… Of course it would be radioactive, but who's counting?
I am using plastic, a C300 White Dot. I use a Master's PowerPaw with a fixed position, and strapped on tight. I have 2 fused bones, in my wrist, that makes it impossible to bend my wrist back more than a couple degrees.
I actually started using my strike ball to shoot 10s now. A much steeper angle out to the dry, and then pray it holds on the 1 – 2 board. That's the best solution I could come up with…
I should write scripts for Tony more often…
And if there's a pin standing on the deck, even if it was stood up again somehow… No strike. See that a lot in womens matches when the 4pin gets juggled between the 2 – 7, or 2 – 8.
Try scuffing your spare ball with a gray scotchbrite pad. It will make the ball hook earlier yes, but it will also take the snap on the back end away, which may help you realign. Don't go crazy, just knock the polish off. The other thing you could try is, if your wrist will allow, taking your fingers 1/4 of the way out. NOT your thumb! This may help kill some of the revs. Also, finish the shot with your pinky finger pointing at the ten pin. Couple of things to try. Good Luck!
I just wanted to comment on a previous question asked in Episode #0038 about legal delivery (no thumb with weight hole). Here is what I found on the USBC's website Chapter 7 commonly asked ?s.
Do I have to use all gripping holes during the delivery of the ball?
If a thumb hole is not being used during a delivery and a weight/balance hole is present, a bowler must demonstrate that all gripping holes can be used for gripping purposes simultaneously. The ball must be within specification as the ball rests in the bowlers hand but all holes do not need to be used for gripping purposes during a delivery.
On my first delivery, I don’t use my thumb hole, I also have a balance hole. Is this acceptable?
Yes, a bowler must only be able to reasonably demonstrate that all gripping holes can be used for gripping purposes simultaneously. As long as the ball is in specification as the ball rests in the bowlers hand it is acceptable.
Very nice site! is it yours too
